Obviously our game is very heavy on supernatural aspects, and the natural result is we don't police historical accuracy for characters a great deal. We do, however, try to err toward overall accuracy in historical setting details beyond our little town to everyone a point of additional depth for their writing!

New Mexico and the Region

At the time of our game, New Mexico is a United States territory. The railroad is a fairly new development for the region in general, and for our town in particular. As a result, there's been an influx of new residents — Most will continue on to Santa Fe, but some do stay in Never.

Never is located in the Maxwell Land Grant, which means it is technically private property, and all the town employees are in fact employees not of a government, but of a private citizen who, for our purposes, just sits back and collects rents and taxes.

Crime & Punishment

Legalities in a town like Never, and the broader region, can be murky at best unless the crime is federal, such as stealing the mail.
