Holds & Face Claims

Imelda Salazar

Site Canon Character
Healer & Midwife
Witch · Early 30s · Female
FC: Alice Braga
Site Canon Character · Group: The Aguilar Family

Imelda is a MEDICINE WOMAN WITCH with PHYSICAL HEALING/HARM powers.

Imelda “Madrita” Salazar would deny that she moved to Never to flee her own heart, but her total reluctance to discuss her prior life might suggest otherwise. Unable to prevent her physician husband’s death at the hands of a group of bandits, she accepted her sister Gloria’s invitation to join her and her family in Never, and now stubbornly applies all of her time and energy into healing others. She charges little when she charges at all, and refuses to lose patients to even the most dire of wounds or maladies. She hopes that in some way, she can thus make up for the most important life she could not save.

Aracely Solares

Site Canon Character
Occupation??
Witch · 16-20s · Female
FC: Amber Midthunder
Site Canon Character

Aracely is a NAGUAL WITCH.

Aracely thinks she might be cursed. Animals have shied away from her for as long as she can remember; milk sours if she looks at it sideways for more than a second or two; fires won’t light in the stove or the hearth unless she leaves the room. Her mother, sunshine incarnate, says it’s just the magic in her blood working itself out. Her grandmother says she needs a good dose of balance. Aracely just wants the people in town to quit crossing to the opposite side of the street when they see her coming. If they knew about the visions of disaster that she’s started seeing in her dreams, they would like her even less.

Effie Rickett, aka Daisy

Site Canon Character
Prostitute at the Pearl
Spirit · 19-20s · Female
FC: Billie Eilish
Site Canon Character · Group: The Pearl

Effie is a REVENANT SPIRIT.

Death put a serious damper on Effie’s grand plans. She had everything going for her–youth, beauty, talent, and the cleverness to unite all three–when she turned eighteen and her father promised her to Cornelius Gander Rickett, factory owner and railroad heir. Rickett was well-bred, appropriately connected, and twenty years Effie’s senior. Worse yet, he was absolutely disinterested in allowing his fiancee to follow her passions for art and music. Effie had dreamed of performing on the stages of the world. Instead, she found herself standing before an audience of New York’s upper crust, speaking vows over her own strongest protests, and boarding a train for a honeymoon trip across the country.

Rail travel could be dangerous, of course. Desolate country. Potential derailments. Slippery tracks. The shock of a new bride disappearing barely a week after her wedding was dreadful, but her husband’s obvious grief made for excellent tragedy in the society papers. Two families mourned. Life moved on.

Effie…didn’t. Move on, that was, and her memory of what had actually happened that dark night on the train stayed crystal clear. Tied now to Never, she’s forced to make do with what she has left–her pretty face–but the possibility of someday wrapping her delicate hands around her former husband’s neck keeps her focused on the future.

Patrick Wolf

Site Canon Character
Banker
Demon · 30s-40s · Male
FC: Jonathan Groff
Site Canon Character

Patrick Wolf is the calm, calculating presence behind the polished marble counter of Never’s lone bank, a man of impeccable dress, clipped diction, and an uncanny memory for names, dates, and debts. To the townsfolk, he is the very picture of stability and discretion, the sort of banker who never loses a ledger and always knows exactly how much interest your sins are accruing.

Unbeknownst to them, Patrick is a demon, dispatched not with flames and fury, but with ink-stained fingers and a hunger for souls dulled by greed. His mission in Never is one of quiet corruption, exploiting the town’s ambitions and desperation to nudge the living ever closer to damnation. Loans with shifting fine print, “chance” investments that seem to work until they don’t, deals made under pressure, and promises that bind tighter than they seem — Patrick turns the dreams of prosperity into traps, one eager signature at a time.

And yet, Patrick has a fondness for routine, for the small rhythms of mortal life that no infernal training ever quite prepared him for. He drinks his coffee at the same time each morning, enjoys feeding the sparrows outside the bank on his lunch break, and collects pocket watches, each one meticulously wound and tended. He finds himself inexplicably soothed by the orderliness of ledgers, the satisfaction of balanced books, the quiet pride in a well-run institution. For all his demonic purpose, Patrick sometimes wonders if his fascination with human striving has made him softer than he ought to be. But so far, no one in Hell seems to notice.

Sophie Grey

Site Canon Character
Debutante
Witch · 16-20s · Female
FC: Brianna Hildebrand
Site Canon Character

Sophie is a PURITAN WITCH with ILLUSION common powers.

Sophie Grey is the daughter of Never’s polished and calculating mayor, Samuel Grey — A young woman of poise, beauty, and a mind sharper than any silver-plated revolver. Nearing adulthood, she moves through the town like a specter of her father’s influence, knowing exactly when to charm, when to disarm, and when to simply watch. She has always understood that power isn’t just about control, but rather perception. And lately, perception has become her playground.

Unaware of her father’s true demon nature but taught secretly at her witch mother’s side from an early age, she is finally coming into her full powers. The illusions she weaves — Innocuous at first, little shifts in light and shadow, whispers mistaken for the wind — are growing stronger. Now, she can make people see things that aren’t there, or worse, fail to see things that are. Faces blur when she wishes them to. Locks seem to open of their own accord. And sometimes, when she looks in the mirror, her reflection does not move quite in time with her.

Jim Plunket

Site Canon Character
Bouncer
Human· 30s-40s · Male
FC: Brian Tyree Henry
Site Canon Character

Jim Plunket is a mountain of a man, tall and broad-shouldered, with a presence that commands respect the moment he steps into a room. As the bouncer at the Pearl, Never’s upscale gambling hall and brothel, he is known for his unshakable calm and steady demeanor. His patience is legendary: Whether it’s breaking up a brawl or quietly escorting an unruly drunk out into the night, Jim always handles things with a measured hand. His deep voice is as soothing as it is firm, and he’s earned a reputation for keeping the peace with little more than a raised eyebrow and a well-timed word.

But beneath Jim’s calm exterior lies a past he’s worked hard to bury. Before Never, he was once part of a notorious outlaw gang, skilled in violence and strategy. His life with them ended in a brutal ambush that left him the sole survivor, carrying the weight of betrayal and regret. He walked away from that life, seeking peace in the Pearl, but his past still haunts him, and he is quietly waiting for the day it catches up.

Albert DuCarmont

Site Canon Character
Bouncer & Maintenance Man
Human · 30s-40s · Male
FC: David Dastmalchian
Site Canon Character

Albert DuCarmont is a man who keeps his head down and his fists ready. As the bouncer and handyman at the Silk Rose, Never’s rough-and-tumble saloon and brothel, he’s seen just about every kind of trouble a lawless frontier can offer. Drunken brawls, sore-loser gamblers, men who think “no” isn’t an answer — Albert handles them all with the same steady, unshakable presence. He isn’t the fastest gun or the sharpest tongue, but he is strong, reliable, and not easily rattled.

Yet, despite his simple outlook, Albert isn’t blind. There’s something wrong about Never, something that prickles at the edges of his instincts. He’s worked in plenty of towns, but nowhere else have shadows seemed too dark, or whispers carried from empty rooms. He’s seen men walk into the night and never come back—but no one seems to grieve them. He’s heard laughter in the Silk Rose that didn’t belong to any living throat.

Albert doesn’t have a name for what’s wrong with Never, and he isn’t a superstitious man, but he keeps an iron nail in his pocket and a Bible under his bed. Just in case.

Lucas Tsela Solares

Site Canon Character
Rancher
Human · 30s-40s · Male
FC: Dallas Goldtooth
Site Canon Character

Lucas is the youngest of Lee’s children, and no one in the family has ever let him forget it. Admittedly, that’s as much a result of his own behavior as his mother’s favoritism toward her daughter. He spent most of his early years causing trouble in one way or another–usually for his older sister, at first, and then for his father once he’d grown out of childhood mischief and into adolescent angst. Adulthood only reinforced the pattern. Doe was the family darling; he was the beloved rascal. Even he couldn’t take himself seriously. For years, he saw no reason to try. Nothing seemed likely to change. Under the circumstances, his father’s death struck him like a lightning bolt. It sent him reeling, dizzy as a planet knocked far out of orbit. When he finally regained his footing, everything had changed. He finally wants to stand up and take his place as the man of the family, but convincing his sister–and his mother–of that fact will be quite a challenge.

Ford Starr

Site Canon Character
Actor at the Victoria
Demon · 20s-30s · Male
FC: Bruno Mars
Site Canon Character

Ford Starr is the golden voice of the Grand Victoria Opera House, a strikingly handsome actor with a presence so magnetic, it leaves audiences breathless. Whether he’s singing a tragic aria or delivering a clever line, he commands the stage like a born star, his every gesture soaked in charisma. The ladies sigh, the gentlemen stare, and Ford laps up the attention like the finest wine.

But behind the velvet curtain and well-cut suits lies a far darker truth: Ford is no mere performer, but rather a demon dispatched from the infernal realms with a mission to seduce wayward souls and guide them to damnation. Never, with its liminal nature and abundance of wandering spirits, is a ripe hunting ground. Ford plays the long game, weaving temptation into every note he sings and every smile he casts.

He is particularly fond of the innocent, the untested, the ones with trembling hands and big eyes full of wonder. To him, seduction is both art and sport, and he keeps a mental ledger of conquests as meticulously as any bank clerk. His voice — So haunting and divine — is his greatest weapon, capable of stirring desire, sorrow, or devotion in equal measure.

Iina Deschene

Site Canon Character
Telegraph Operator
Angel · 16-20 · Female
FC: Elva Guerra
Site Canon Character

Iina Deschene is the cheerful heart of Never’s telegraph office, a young woman with bright eyes, a warm laugh, and a knack for turning even the most mundane message into a moment of connection. Clad in modest skirts and ink-stained fingers, she’s known for her speed at the keys and the uncanny way she always seems to know when a message is coming before it does.

Of course, Iina is an Angel, in Never to guide lost spirits toward the light. Her approach is gentle and open. Her innocent demeanor and radiant presence are disarming to even the most hardened souls, and her mere touch seems to carry with it a trace of good luck: Sick children recover faster, stubborn cattle calm, and broken hearts begin to mend. Even some demons, drawn to Never for darker purposes, can’t help but feel fondness for her. There’s something irresistible about Iina’s presence — A quiet light that soothes without preaching, a kindness that seems boundless but never naïve.
